Lyndsey Croal

Co-Creator of The PACT

Hello! I'm a graduate from the University of St. Andrews, with a Master's in Peace and Conflict Studies. My interests are varied but include Scottish Politics, international security, terrorism studies, international development and debates surrounding intervention and peace-building. I'm currently working in public affairs and political engagement in Scotland but I enjoy writing and exploring different topics in my spare time. Thanks for visiting our blog!

Jacky Westermann

Co-Creator of The PACT

Following undergraduate studies in Political Science and Law at the University of Muenster, Germany (2013), and an M.Litt. in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of St. Andrews (2015), Jacky is now placed in Canberra, working with the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

Prior to joining ASPI, she worked at the Warsaw office of The German Marshall Fund of the United States, where programming focussed on transatlantic relations, Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. After graduating from St Andrews, Jacky spent some time in Moscow, Russia, attempting the Russian language and working with the Moscow German Newspaper, which she still proof-reads and contributes to.

She is interested in all stuff related to German foreign and defence policy, Central and Eastern Europe (particularly Poland), and Russia. At ASPI, among other things, Jacky's focus is on Russia's role in the Pacific, and she also wants to look more in depth at women in peace and security.

While studying together at St. Andrews we felt the need to create a platform to express individual insights to specific situations of peace and conflict. The idea behind this blog is to create a community to voice a collection of opinions on pressing issues facing the world today. The majority of our writers are students or young professionals and opinions on this site are only those of the authors.
